Little Mother

Since we've been married, most Thanksgivings past have involved tens or hundreds of people, depending on which extended family we spent it with. This year we had the feast at home with Matt and Michelle and our kids. It was quite enjoyable, and comparatively quiet. However, we did need to get out of the house and do something before the kids went crazy. So we decided to go over to the church. If no one was there, we planned on letting the kids run around in the gym. (I have a key for my calling.) While we were there, we went into the nursery to play with the toys:

Savanna had at least three baby dolls (with no one to commandeer them immediately from her). As she lovingly whipped them to and fro by their arms or legs, Michelle tried to show her how to be gentle. Michelle picked up a tiny baby doll, cradled it in her hands, and rocked it while supporting the head. Then she said, "This baby is cold. Go get a blanket for the baby!" Instead, Savanna grabbed the baby by the leg, grabbed another baby by the leg, and walked over to the play kitchen set. She threw open the oven, tossed the babies in, closed the door, and cranked up the heat. Yep, little mommy in the making.

LOL! I wonder how she'll treat the new baby, maybe with more care than the dolls, but the entire story is cute and funny. :D
