Earlier this week, Caleb was saying his prayers. He said, "And please bring me a new Buzz Lightyear." How do you explain to a 3-year-old that's not how it works? Well, I tried. I said, "Caleb, when you pray, you don't ask for things. But you can ask for help!" To further explain myself, I said, "You can ask Heavenly Father for help, and you can ask Santa for things."
The next evening: "Heavenly Father, please help Santa to bring me a new Buzz Lightyear."
Next story, tonight we had the missionaries over for dinner. Caleb wanted to say the prayer. So he was going along just fine, then said, "And please bless the missionaries to fold their arms (Missionaries! Fold your arms!). Thank you for helping the missionaries to fold their arms..."
Now you know what you should pray for.

To me this story is as "Caleb" as it gets. So funny.
I swear every prayer said by Skylar includes the phrase, "bless that we can all have a great time." No matter what. I've tried to teach her to make her prayers relate to what we're doing, like prayer for the food only at meals, and she's done well except for this one....says it all the time. Funny kids!
He is just so cute I don't think I have ever met a funnier child. I love it! Lance would totally understand about the Buzz Lightyear situation.
Just so plain funny. Love that Caleb. We give the missionaries rides every Sunday and last Sunday we saw you and your husband driving so the whole drive home was dedicated to how cute Caleb was. Just thought you should know.
That is awesome. He cracks me up.
Your son is such an intelligent and smart little boy!! I just laughed and laughed when i read the post. Good way to explain what to pray for--you are so clever Bri!
