How is it okay?

Sorry, but this is going to be a quick rant post because I've got to run.

But how is it okay for famous people (including but not limited to politicians, athletes, musicians, and actors) to get away with bad things? Especially lately, it seems that many people are cheating on their spouses, then apologizing (when and because they were caught), and the punishment is only a slight frown (big smiles from the papparazzi), and they go on with their lives?

I mean we've even had a couple womanizing presidents in the last few decades, and it's okay?

HOW IS IT THAT WE CAN TURN A BLIND EYE TO THEIR INFIDELITY AND THEN TRUST THEM TO BE TRUSTWORTHY IN EVERYTHING ELSE??????

Oh, and don't get me started on sexuality. WHEN IS IT EVER OKAY TO TELL PEOPLE ABOUT YOUR PRIVATE BEDROOM LIFE?

I don't want to hear if someone is gay, bisexual, or straight. I don't want to hear it people. I wholeheartedly believe that God instituted marriage between husband and wife (a real man and a real woman), that procreation is sacred, that children are blessings from God, and families can be together forever. But I don't want to hear about anyone's private life (including happily married husbands and wives, thank you very much), but especially those who choose to live in sin.

Forgive me for my strong opinion on the subject.

It sounds like you recently heard a story or saw something on the news that set you off. That happens to me sometimes too. My Aunt sent me a link to a funny music video about gay people (or about how people should NOT be gay). It's a catchy song and sort of sounds like it's for kids--being about farm animals and all...but the frightening thing is that there is even a need for a song like that.
It also reminds me that the world in general is becoming more polar--so the good things and people are getting better (like more temples around the world) and the bad things and people are getting worse (like more pornography around the world). Just do your best to combat evil and you can be happy because you know that eventually the side you're fighting for will win. =)

I have thought those same things lately. I read a talk by Elder N. Russell Ballard, "The Sacred Responsibility of Parenthood" that reminds us of God's plans for families. It's a great talk!!
