I am officially annoyed with blogger right now because it won't allow me to upload pictures.
So I will do that later, but for now I will give you a short update on our family.
Bryan is a (very) little less busy than he has been. He still works 50 hours a week at least. So it's hard to justify doing anything besides spending time with him when he's home. Because, frankly, if he works 50 hours a week, that's 10 extra hours a week I work too, without a break for me. But how can I complain when he's not getting a break either? And we thought we were busy in college...
I am (slowly) finding my place in this small town. I have recently been able to use my musical talents (a little) more than before, which pleases me. I am getting more comfortable with my visiting teachers, who, while quirky, are actually quite nice. And I'm tearing down some walls, one brick at a time, with the young women I work with. I'm starting to mesh a little better with the other leaders too, the more I get to know them, and the more they get to know me. Mostly, they just intimidate me because they are all such amazing women with amazing talents.
Caleb is enjoying school, but still "not learning anything." Which is not entirely true. But if he thinks school is just fun, that's fine by me. He loves to play with (tease) Savanna and Joseph. But he does really love them, I think. He is also very sensitive. Both in that he gets his feelings hurt easily, and that he has great sympathy for others who are sad.
Savanna is talking in paragraphs now, and some of the things she says just catch me off guard. She is transitioning to no-naps, which breaks my heart into thousands of pieces. She can throw a mean tantrum, but she is also learning how to say "please" and "thank you" and ask for things without whining. She loves everything princess, mostly Cinderella. So we are trying to use this obsession to encourage her to be "modest like a princess," and "talk nicely like a princess." And since she is still not potty-trained yet, I thought about making a princess throne so she can "go potty like a princess."
Joseph aims to please. He always has a smile on his face, as you will see with the forthcoming picture post. He is a happy little guy. Even when I'm having a rough day, he can smile at me and melt all my frustration and angst away. I LOVE this little guy!

I'm glad you're feeling better about Pullman and life here. (I hope you didn't just post that for my comment.) I think you fit in really well here, and the young women love you. You are a very "cool" leader. I think the girls feel like you're young enough to understand them still. It's fun to see you helping with the song for young women's too. I think you could do a lot for the singing abilities of our group. =) That's tough with your husband working so many hours though. I hope he get a little more time off soon, but I know he's got a pretty involved job. I think he gets an automatic ticket to the celestial kingdom for doing that job so well and with a kind heart. I've seen a number of very corrupt people working in that capacity and it gives me some hope to know that they aren't all corrupt.
Also, I think that's a great idea to have a "princess throne." That made me laugh. You could do some great stuff with that idea.
I actually just bought a little pink princess throne (potty) at Walmart for abou 12$. Diana loved sitting on it--so long as she was dressed.
I relate to the no-nap disaster...
But glad to hear you're making progress in so many other areas. I'm excited to spend more time with all your kids over Christmas.
Yeah, the princess thing brings great encouragement, keep at it.
Sounds like you guys are doing well. Your kids are adorable...in image and personality! Good luck with the adjustment and welcome to the busy husband club...I wish there were secret perks I could tell you about. If I find any I'll let you know.
It was fun reading about you guys. Thoughts that I had while reading:
-We may as well start now for the third child since things might not slow down after school.
-Caleb sounds like Jake did when we lived there. Jake thought that he never learned anything from school, he was just bored. At least Caleb is having fun.
-Emma Jo's naps are becoming more and more sporadic. That breaks my heart as well, I loved that quiet time during the day.
-Joseph does seem like a very happy baby, that is wonderful for you guys.
-Good luck with all the meshing; visiting teachers, young women, leaders, etc. It would be hard to be in Young Women even though that is the one calling that I think that I would enjoy, maybe it's harder than I ever give thought to it.
-We love you guys and miss you LOTS!!
